The Best Rooftop Bars on Mactan Island
And why you shouldn’t miss visiting a Rooftop Bar in Lapu-Lapu City
Let’s admit it. There is something special about a rooftop bar.
Maybe it’s the breeze coming in from the sea.
Maybe it’s the city lights that glow after dark.
Or maybe it’s simply the feeling of stepping away from the traffic and noise below while cooling down under the evening breeze.
Around Mactan Island, rooftop bars have become some of the most memorable places to spend an evening. Not because the buildings here are extremely tall – but because the atmosphere is just different.
Some rooftops overlook the ocean.
Some give you sunset views over Mactan and Cebu City.
Others come alive at night with cocktails, music, conversations, and warm lights under the open sky.
And that is really what makes a rooftop bar an experience in itself.
A good rooftop is about more than just drinks.
It’s the combination of open air, lighting, music, comfort, design, and the people around you. It’s the feeling of sitting above the streets with a cold drink while planes pass over Mactan, city lights begin to glow, or live music slowly fills the night.
Some rooftop bars are built for relaxed dinners and sunset cocktails.
Others feel more like social lounges, sports bars, or late-night hangouts.
Some become especially memorable during sunset hours, while others come alive later at night when the city lights begin to take over.
And during celebrations like New Year’s Eve, rooftop bars often turn into some of the most sought-after places on the island thanks to the views, atmosphere, and fireworks above the city skyline.
In Mactan, the tropical setting changes the experience completely. Warm nights, sea breeze, palm trees, coastal views, and the relaxed island atmosphere create a rooftop culture that feels very different from rooftops in larger cities.
The best ones become destinations on their own.
Not just random places you visit for a drink – but places you remember because of how they made the evening feel.
Here are 5 rooftop bars on Mactan that we personally think are worth visiting.
But there are many different kinds of rooftop experiences around the island.
5 Rooftop Bars Worth Visiting on Mactan
Don’t get confused by the name. Grey’s is much more than just a coffee lounge and bar.
Inside, you’ll find a very stylish café with a wide selection of coffees, excellent breakast, pastries, and a surprisingly varied food menu. On the first floor is the cocktail lounge along with spacious VIP karaoke rooms.
But the part we really want to talk about here is the rooftop.
The rooftop at Grey’s is an elegant sports bar with two billiard tables, an air hockey table, and dart boards – all combined with a relaxed rooftop atmosphere that feels both social and upscale at the same time.

The drinks range from local Filipino beers to international beers and well-made cocktails. You can also order food from the café downstairs while enjoying the rooftop area, including pizzas, pastries, coffee, and more.
The view is more city-oriented than ocean-oriented, but still very enjoyable. From the rooftop, you can see parts of The Mactan Newtown skyline while watching flights ascend and descend from Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
What really makes Grey’s stand out though is the ambience.
The place feels polished, welcoming, and professionally run without becoming overly formal. Unlike some nightlife spots around Mactan, Grey’s is not adult-oriented.
You will not find girls approaching customers for drinks or company here. Instead, the staff is professionally dressed in uniforms and genuinely good at making guests feel welcome.
For us, Grey’s is easily one of the rooftop places on Mactan that is worth visiting.
When you are driving along M.L. Quezon National Highway towards Island Central Mactan, you will pass both bridges that connect mainland Cebu and Mactan Island. Shortly after crossing the second bridge (the New Bridge), you will find Azon Residences on your right-hand side just across from Shell.
It is not the easiest place to notice at first, and from the outside it may not look like much. But once you drive up to the parking area, you are welcomed by the attentive guards, and they quickly help you find parking for either your car or motorbike.
From there, you simply take the elevator up to the 12th floor where you enter Scape Skydeck.

As you enter the rooftop restaurant, you are immediately welcomed by an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. The setting feels calm, elevated, and surprisingly cozy considering the panoramic views surrounding the place.
The staff is very accommodating and helpful in getting you seated, whether you choose one of the high tables overlooking Cebu City and the channel between the islands, or prefer relaxing in the more comfortable lounge seating areas.
The menu ranges from well-made Italian pizzas and pasta dishes to Filipino favorites like crispy pata and pork sisig.
Scape Skydeck also offers a solid selection of both red and white wines. But the signature cocktails are honestly good enough to be a reason to visit on their own. Our recommendation goes to the “Sweet Escape”, which truly lives up to its name.
As the evening gets darker, the atmosphere changes completely. The city lights begin reflecting across the water while the skyline of Cebu slowly lights up in the distance. Combined with the relaxed ambience and elevated setting above the city, Scape Skydeck easily becomes one of the most romantic rooftop experiences on Mactan.
No matter who you are or your reason for visiting, this is one rooftop that truly manages to feel special without becoming overly formal or intimidating.
Marbeach Rooftop Bar is a bit like the naughty boy in the classroom.
If the mood calls for heavy metal music, there is no holding back.
Club beats are welcome too – or how about a loud karaoke night where the entire rooftop sings along?

Marbeach Rooftop Bar opened in May 2024 and quickly became popular among both locals and foreigners around Mactan.
The beers are cold, the drinks are generous, and the cocktails are made with good intentions. We are not talking about mixology experts here – but the bartender genuinely tries to make every drink enjoyable.
Marbeach also opened its own rooftop kitchen serving dine-in comfort food as well as takeout. The menu focuses on simple bar favorites, but honestly, the taste is surprisingly good – especially considering the affordable prices.
To reach the rooftop, you need to walk up two floors using the stairs.
For elderly guests or people with mobility challenges, that can be a bit of a climb. But after a long night, there is usually always someone willing to help you safely back down again.
The atmosphere at Marbeach is one of those rare things that cannot really be designed.
People talk to each other across tables, raise glasses toward strangers, sing together, and slowly become part of the same rooftop mood during the evening.
The owners themselves are also very hands-on and interacts gladly with the guests instead of hiding behind the bar.
This is not a rooftop you visit for a luxury skyline view.
This is a rooftop you visit because the place comes alive once the party starts.
